Hello again!
Two blog posts in a couple of days. Since this is my regular Monday blog post I thought I’d share non Project Quilting related news here.
This past week I attended the local Modern Quilt Guild meeting and joined as a member. I’ve been an individual member for the past year but decided to join a guild to socialize with other quilters and see what everyone is up to.
Each month there’s a guild swap and the swap announced for the February meeting is needle books. After some perusing on Pinterest I saw a needle book that I liked and went about making my own version of it. One of the features of the needle book was that it had a zipper pocket for odds and ends that are needed for hand sewing. I drew out what I wanted to do and found a foundation paper piecing pattern for a mini New York Beauty block for the front cover. I used hand dyed fabrics for the New York Beauty block and added a couple hints of color on the inside. There’s also 6 pages of felt for putting pins and needles in on the inside and I hand bound the edges.
I’m all set for next month’s meeting.
Happy Quilting!
