Holiday Mug Rugs

I finished up some mug rugs today for my husband’s co-workers. We gifted them a mug, some hot chocolate mix and the mug rug. I use strips and my Dresden plate ruler to make the trees and more strips or squares sewn on to make the mug rugs large enough for a cup of coco and a treat. I had a lot of fun diving into my scrap bins to see what I could come up with. To finish, I quilted them without a backing, just quilted to the batting, sewed them right sides together with the back and turned right side out. I top stitched around the perimeter to close the opening where I turned the mug rug right side out.

I also finished up three more remembrance quilts. My mom made the quilts and quilted them and I added the binding. I still have one more left to do but ran out of time today. These three will be delivered to the hospital tomorrow.
