Hello!
December was full and I didn’t get to much sewing or blogging. Holidays, sick kid, etc. made parts of December busy and other parts not so busy but we were at home resting. We’re all better now and with the holidays over, I think we can get back to more of an everyday routine.
One thing I did decide to do was to start with the Declutter Challenge, specifically, a sewing room declutter challenge. Just Get It Done Quilts does a yearly Declutter Challenge and I was undecided because it felt like another thing to do. Last night I finally decided to do it and what led me to this decision was taking the Facebook and Instagram apps off my phone. I have spent so much time on my phone over the fall and I wanted to eliminate the temptation of scrolling for extended periods of time. I have not deleted my accounts yet but the apps are off the phone.
I woke up this morning and didn’t feel the need to be on my phone. That was helpful and it set me up for the rest of the day to do other things, like the Declutter Challenge. You can find out more info about it on the Just Get It Done Quilts blog. I completed Day 1 with some help from my son. I set a timer and did a couple 15 minute sessions so I didn’t burn myself out. I’m hoping that this will help me tame some of the items in my sewing area and make it easier to organize everything. I don’t have definite homes for some items and they kind of float around the room. On to Day 2 tomorrow.
Happy creating!
