Hello!
A couple of weeks ago, I saw someone posted a 10 year challenge. A picture of yourself from 2014 and now in 2024. So I went digging around in my phone for a picture. I found one from August 2014 at the annual hot air balloon lift off our city has. The 2024 picture is from our trip to Hawaii this past May.

In 2014, I started quilting again after a 5 year or so hiatus. I see in my photos, I was mostly knitting at the time. In February 2014, I did the Rose City Yarn Crawl with my mom and sister and I have a myriad of yarn pictures and projects. Anyway, in March 2014, I started quilting again and see the first couple of projects. One project that I was super proud of and was on trend for the time was my chevron table runner. I even straight line quilted it myself on my tiny brother sewing machine. I took it to quilt guild in May/June 2014 to get some advice on the quilting. I remember I wasn’t sure if I was doing everything right and I was trying to do it on my own.

Fast forward to 2024 and I just started quilting again. The retreat I went to in November (previous post) was kind of the push I needed to get some projects out and to make some quilts. I’ll re-share my photo from the retreat blog post because I haven’t made any progress on quilts since the retreat. Lots of things going on this time of year.

So in the span of 10 years I’ve gone from quilting to bag making and back to quilting. Things come and go for me but I’ll probably come back to quilting time and time again and be making my own bags for years to come.
Happy creating!
Camille
