I just returned from a quilting retreat and I had such a great time! I help organize the retreat with my local quilt shop and there were about 45 of us this year. Lots of talking and LOTS of laughter.
There were activities including jelly roll strip poker, bingo, and a one yard batik exchange. I found the one yard batik exchange idea from Heirloom Creations through Pinterest and here’s their YouTube video on how to do it.
The Warm Company donated a box of a variety of different batting and other products they carry and we are very grateful for their generosity. We included the different products in game and door prize baskets. Kelly Creek Studio provided Purple Thangs and Villa Rosa patterns for everyone in their welcome bags. And last but not least Bolts to Blocks provided FriXion pens, lanyards, and the welcome bags themselves.
I was a chain piecing machine and sewed on my Leader & Ender project, the checkerboard rail fence, and a new project, a black and orange snowball quilt. I got all of my checkboards together for the rail fence but still need to sew the rails together and put it all together.
I also made two pillowcases out of Tula Pink’s latest line, Spirit Animal. I need to get those in the wash so I can put them on my pillows. Aren’t they just the cutest! Look at those otters!
The retreat was a huge success and we can’t wait to go back again next year!
Happy Quilting!
Camille
Sounds like fun!
