Hello!
For this month’s One Monthly Goal I had a hard time deciding. I could choose something doable (18 pencil pouches) or stretch myself and make something that I’ve wanted to make for myself (Painted Dream Catcher by No Hats in the House). I’m going to take the easy way out this month and choose the 18 pencil pouches. Why 18? I’m making favors for everyone coming to my birthday party. Yes, I am in my mid 30s and I still throw myself a birthday party. This year a local art studio opened up so we’re doing neon splatter painting. You get to squirt and splatter paint out of squeeze bottles on your canvas. Who wouldn’t love that?! And how freeing to not have to make a perfect picture. It’s also great to support a new local business.
I will be using Hunter Design Studio’s Chunky Wee Zippy Pouch pattern. This pattern has three sizes of pouches and also has a worksheet to make a pouch of your own dimensions. I’m planning to do the pencil pouches assembly line style and make 6 each week for three weeks of the month which will lead up to my birthday at the end of the month perfectly. I still have to figure out what exactly I want to put inside the pencil pouches aside from the basic pencil. And if you are coming to the party and reading this, pretend to be surprised by your favor :-p That last sentence was mostly geared toward my mom. Love you mom!
Happy Quilting!
